When the sun went down on Saturday, September 17, 2016, the light from hundreds of headlamps were bobbing and weaving along as enthusiasts and supporters of visually impaired Albertans joined in sight night Edmonton – a fun run after dark.
Raising funds and awareness for the Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind (ASRAB), sight night, presented by Flaman Fitness, is more than just another run. It is a vision-optional event. Runners who are visually impaired share the path with sighted runners. The after-dark timing makes it a more even playing field!
Enthusiastic participants gathered at Rundle Park for a 5K or 10K chipped run or 2.5K run/walk.
