ASRAB is partnering with CNIB for this event. If you are a youth or young adult aged 12 to 21, you are invited to come out to an evening of archery and pizza. No experience is necessary. Movement For Me – Saturdays
ASRAB invites kids with visual impairments from ages 4-12 to get moving! This active group will focus on learning and improving movement skills essential for sport and leisure activities. We will learn through games, songs, and play. During this program we will introduce fundamental skills for Soccer, Basketball, and Goalball, as well as other sports while also increasing confidence in general physical abilities. Come and meet other kids, get active and have fun!

Try Goalball – Wednesdays
Come try out this unique quick-paced team sport that is specifically designed for people with visual impairments. No experience is necessary but participants should be prepared to play hard and work up a sweat!

Blind Hockey is played with both partially-sighted and fully-sighted athletes on the same team. This fast-paced team sport is tons of fun and suitable for players 13 and up who are comfortable skating.
The first practice will be Saturday, November 1, 7:15 – 8:15 pm at Crestwood Arena (9940 147 St NW)

Learn to Skate
Do you or your child want to learn to improve your skating abilities? ASRAB is working with Skate Canada: AB, NWT and Nunavut Sectional to create barrier free programming for those with visual impairments who would like to learn how to skate.
The program is part of Skate Canada’s CanSkate program. CanSkate offers programs in most communities through out Alberta so wherever you live in the province we will likely be able to accommodate you.

SKI and SNOWBOARD
ASRAB is partnering with CADS Edmonton to provide an opportunity to try downhill skiing and snowboarding. The Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing will be providing trained instructors and guides for participants. No experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. This is also an opportunity for a parent or partner to learn how to be a skiing guide.

*We will meet at the CADS trailer (first building the left as you go to the main lodge)
*Please arrive by 9:30am to get rentals
ASRAB members of all ages are invited to come out and learn how to snowshoe, alongside members of the Edmonton Outdoor Club!
You will have the opportunity to learn how to walk on the snow, test out your skills and enjoy exploring the trails throughout the park. Friends and family welcome to join!
This event will be beginner friendly, but there is opportunity for those interested to tackle some more challenging trails.

The park is located at the very west end of Rabbit Hill road, off Terwillegar Drive. We will meet in the Terwillegar Park parking lot
What to Bring:
- Weather appropriate clothing (dress in layers, toques, gloves, snow-pants, etc)
- Winter boots or Hiking boots
We are partnering with Alberta Soccability to offer a soccer program to ASRAB members for those aged 13 and up. You will have the opportunity to learn basic rules, skills, safety and of course, have the opportunity to get moving and play soccer.
All experience levels welcome. Come ready to play in your gym shoes and active wear!
