Several of our members felt ASRAB needed a framework to facilitate fundraising done for/by affiliated teams and your Board of Directors agreed. At our 2015 Annual Meeting a group of members offered to help develop the policy and collaborated on it by email over the summer. The Board took their input and further developed the draft policy to cover ASRAB fundraising in general and sent for legal review, after which a final policy was agreed upon by the Board and implemented.

Any organization is, at the end of the day, only as good and as effective as its members make it. We appreciate the initiative of the members who stepped up to help develop this policy and encourage each and every ASRAB member to think about what they can do to make this organization more effective at fulfilling its mandate of supporting Albertans who are blind or visually impaired to live physically active lives and participate in competitive sports programs.
