Presented by Flaman Fitness – A fun run after dark…vision optional
When: Saturday, September 17, 2016 – 7 pm
Where: Rundle Park 2909 113 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5W 0P3
When the sun goes down on Saturday, September 17, 2016, the light from hundreds of headlamps will bob and weave along as enthusiasts and supporters of visually impaired Albertans join in sight night Edmonton – a fun run after dark.
Raising funds and awareness for the Alberta Sports and Recreation Association for the Blind (ASRAB), sight night, presented by Flaman Fitness, is more than just another run. It is a vision-optional event. Runners who are visually impaired will share the path with sighted runners. The after-dark timing makes it a more even playing field!
Enthusiastic participants will gather at Rundle Park for a 5K or 10K chipped run or 2.5K run/walk and all registrants will receive a high quality headlamp – the sight night light!
Please visit www.sightnightedmonton.ca to register for the event
ASRAB is pleased to announce sight night’s 2016 Honorary Chair, Brieann Baldock! Brieann recently graduated from the special needs education certificate program at MacEwan University and is part of the Alberta provincial Goalball team. Read Brieann’s story in full.

Miles for Matthew
Participating in sight night as a team is a fun way to bring people together to support ASRAB and generate more awareness about the sport and recreational opportunities available to visually impaired Albertans.
At the 2014 sight night event, one of the largest teams was Miles for Matthew. Angie Silvius started this team back in 2013 with her friend Kathleen in honour of her son, Matthew. Matthew, who is now 8, was born with LCA.
“We didn’t know he was blind until his three month check up but Matthew doesn’t let being blind stop him. He did the run last year,” says Angie. More on this Story
