How long have you played goalball?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

6 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

What has been the highlight of your goalball career?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Winning gold at the 2015 Junior World Goalball Championships and attending the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are your personal and team goals for goalball?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

My personal goals are to attend at least one more Paralympics and to be a contributing factor to the team standing on the podium.<\/span><\/p>\n

What other sports do you play?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Blind hockey, sighted hockey, horseback riding, soccer, and football.<\/span><\/p>\n

How has ASRAB helped you?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Being a new member, I can not speak as much about ASRAB specifically, however being a part of a blind sports organization has helped me immensely. It has provided me with opportunities to travel the world doing what I love. It has allowed me to work toward my goal of representing my country and has given me an extended family I could not imagine life without. <\/span><\/p>\n

Have you participated in other ASRAB activities?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

I have participated in learn to skate and blind hockey children and youth programs as a coach. <\/span><\/p>\n

What motivates you to continue to participate in sports and recreation with ASRAB?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

When I play sports, I am at my happiest points in my life. I strive to always better my performance and work on skills to help my team forward in our common goal. This drive is what keeps me going. I have played individual sports, but team sports are where my heart lies. The comradery and working with a group of people that grow to become your family is like no other. <\/span><\/p>\n

Do you have any other personal philosophies on goalball and sport that you would like to share?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

You don\u2019t need to be talented or have the \u2018in shape\u2019 body according to society. You just need to have a reason to start, continue, and improve. Let the reason be yourself, don\u2019t do it for others.<\/span><\/p>\n
