Walking Club<\/h3>\n

Join us for a walk in the beautiful river valley! We will meet at the main entrance of the Edmonton Conference Centre to begin and end our walks.<\/p>\n

Guides can be arranged, please let the program coordinator know when you register if you will require a guide walker. Friends and family members are welcome to join as well!<\/p>\n

Archery Try-it!<\/h3>\n

ASRAB invites our members of all ages to try out Archery!<\/p>\n

Para-Archery is a Paralympic sport, and Visually Impaired archery athletes will be competing in the 2020 Paralympic Games! The objective of the sport is to shoot arrows accurately at a target marked with 10 concentric rings.<\/p>\n

An instructor will help you learn the proper form and technique for shooting accurately, and a sighted assistant (known as a spotter) will help you shoot safely and give you feedback.<\/p>\n

Where<\/strong>: Wyld Archery – 14805 Yellowhead Trail
\nWhen<\/strong>: Tuesday, August 13th
\nTime<\/strong>: 6:30 – 7:30pm
\nAges<\/strong>: 12 years and up
\nCost<\/strong>: $15<\/p>\n

Details: You are encouraged to bring a friend or family member to assist you as a Spotter.<\/p>\n

Golf Try-it!<\/h3>\n

Come to learn to play golf with ASRAB! These lessons will teach golf technique at the driving range and on the golf course. With two lessons, members will get the chance to play a short game with three holes on the course!<\/p>\n

Members will be paired with a volunteer to help with technique, we encourage you to bring your family or friends to help as well. Each member will be given instructions, range balls, and rentals if needed.<\/p>\n

\nWhen<\/strong>: Wednesday August 14th, 21st, and 28th
\nTime<\/strong>: 7:00 – 8:00pm
\nAges<\/strong>: 12 years and up
\nCost<\/strong>: $75<\/p>\n

Details<\/strong>: Please arrive early to grab clubs and balls so we can start on time.<\/p>\n

Paddle Boating and BBQ at Hawrelak Park!<\/h3>\n

Come try out and get out on the water with paddle boating and Hawrelak Park! The two manned boats are a great way for members and their guide to cruise around in. Like a bicycle they are propelled by placing your feet on pedals and pushing in a circular motion. Following paddle boating we will enjoy a BBQ to celebrate the end of summer!<\/p>\n

Where<\/strong>: Hawrelak Park – 9330 Groat Rd NW
\nWhen<\/strong>: Saturday August 24th
\nTime<\/strong>: 1:00 – 2:30pm<\/p>\n

Details<\/strong>: Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can be boating by 1:00 pm. The boating house is located next to the Heritage Amphitheatre and by picnic site Number 5. Life jackets will be provided, but please bring a change of clothes (just in case!), water and sunscreen.<\/p>\n
