Movement for Me and Sports Literacy<\/h4>\n

ASRAB invites you to join our Movement for Me classes that teach members a variety of physical literacy skills such as balancing, hopping, skipping, throwing, catching and much more! Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding of movement for engagement in physical activities for life. These skills are the building blocks that are essential for a successful transition into sport and physical activities.<\/p>\n

The Sport Literacy Program is an additional tier to the Movement for Me program and is for previous students who have mastered the fundamental movement skills and are ready for more of a challenge. This program introduces sport specific skills that will set up members for success in recreational or sports activities. Please inquire via e-mail to verify if your child is ready for this program.<\/p>\n

Where<\/strong>: CNIB located at 10 11A Street NE, Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3. We will be using the TT room, the door to enter this room will be outside to the right of the main south doors entering CNIB (the door will be propped open).<\/p>\n

When<\/strong>:
\nTuesday, October 13, 2020;
\nTuesday, October 20, 2020;
\nTuesday, October 27, 2020; and
\nTuesday, November 3, 2020.<\/p>\n

Time<\/strong>: Movement For Me (ages 6-8) at 6:00 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. & Youth Sport Literacy Program 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Registration<\/strong>: Please e-mail Program.Calgary@asrab.ab.ca<\/a> with the participants name, age and phone number. Please also specify what class<\/p>\n

Attire<\/strong>: Please wear indoor runners to this program. Please bring a face covering to wear upon arrival in public spaces.<\/p>\n

Walking Club!<\/h4>\n

Walking club will be held at different parks and walking paths around the Calgary area. Walking Club will take place outdoors depending on weather conditions. We ask that you come early to sign in and fill out additional paperwork. We recommend that you bring a mask with you to ensure safety.<\/p>\n

Dates<\/strong>: Every Sunday starting October 4<\/p>\n

Time<\/strong>: From 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Where<\/strong>: Locations to be announced via e-mail.<\/p>\n

Adult Yoga<\/h4>\n

Yoga is a spiritual discipline that uses breath control, relaxation techniques, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures to increase overall body health. Learn the techniques to a better mind, body and soul through yoga! Our yoga program will be launching in October and will be on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n

Registration fee<\/strong>: $40.00 Please note, in collaboration with the Canadian Council for the Blind (CCB), CCB members will NOT be charged the registration fee.<\/p>\n

Join Canadian Council for The Blind’s Bowling Team!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Come out every Friday from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. and bowl at Chinook Bowladrome! Cost is $7.00 for CCB Members which includes three games, and shoes. For non-members it’s $15.00. To register e-mail ccb.calgaryclub@shaw.ca<\/a> or call (403) 248-6003.<\/p>\n

Join ACPSA’s Outdoor Soccer Program!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Soccer sessions are now open for ASRAB members to take part in. Dates are Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on October 10 and 17 at Connaught School (1121 12 Ave SW Calgary, AB) Sign up by clicking here: ACPSA Soccer Program Sign-up<\/a><\/p>\n

CNIB’s Virtual Seated Dance Fitness Class<\/strong><\/p>\n

Join a fun dance-fitness class while seated! Dates are Thursdays October 8, 15, 22 & 29. To register, e-mail Programs.registration.bcy@cnib.ca<\/a><\/p>\n

Join 4:13 Therapeutic Riding Lessons!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Learn how to ride and take care of a horse! Programs will be starting on a trial bases beginning with riders who are able to mount and dismount with minimal assistance and do not require support while riding. When required, sidewalkers will be parents or aides. Dates are Sundays – October 18, 25 and November 1 and Wednesdays- October 7, 14, 21 and 28. The cost is $360 for 6 lessons.
