<\/p>\nThe Canadian Blind Sports Association recently announced the goalball athletes to represent Canada at the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto. ASRAB was very pleased that 3 Alberta athletes were named to the teams, with an additional 3 athletes as reserves.<\/p>\n

Trent Farebrother<\/strong>, Head Coach of the ASRAB Goalball program states “I am very proud of all the Alberta Athletes (Aaron\u00a0<\/strong>Ghebreyohannes, Blair Nesbitt <\/strong>and Tiana Knight<\/strong>) named to compete for Canada at the<\/p>\n Para Pan Am games in Toronto this August. In addition to these athletes attending the games we have three additional athletes (Carla Shibley, Ruby Soliman <\/strong>and Aaron Prevost<\/strong>) named as alternates. This accomplishment by Alberta athletes shows the depth of our programs. This could not be made possible without the support of ASRAB, the coaches and volunteers, and especially to the athletes for their continued effort to strive to be the best. The future for Alberta Goalball looks very promising.”<\/p>\n The full teams as named by CBSA are:<\/p>\n Men’s Team:<\/strong> Brendan Gaulin, Aron Ghebreyohannes, Bruno Hache, Blair Nesbitt, Simon Richard, Ahmad Zievidavi<\/p>\n Women’s Team:<\/strong> Ashlie Andrews, Whitney Bogart, Amy Burk, Tiana Knight, Jillian MacSween, Cassandra Orgeles<\/p>\n The Men’s teams contesting are: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico, United States and Venezuela<\/p>\n The Women’s teams contesting are: Brazil, Canada, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and United States<\/p>\n Peter Wettlaufer<\/strong>, President of ASRAB said “I am proud to have Aron, Blair and Tiana representing Canada at the upcoming Parapan Am games in Toronto.
