ASRAB is pleased to be hosting the 2017 Calgary CanAm Tournament – November 3-5, 2017.
In conjunction with this tournament, ASRAB will run the new Canadian Blind Sports (CBSA) Officiating Course – an entry level course for aspiring referees.
With consideration of the CBSA competition review held in conjunction with Long Term Athlete Development, it was noted that the national goalball program needed additional competitive opportunities. With the addition of the ASRAB event, there is now a good range of competitive events across the country as the season progresses: Calgary and Halifax in November, Montreal in January and then the Nationals in April.
ASRAB will be holding the new CBSA Officiating Course – an entry level course for aspiring referees, coaches, and minor table officials. The course will be held on the evening of Thursday November 2, and the day of Friday November 3. Following the course presentation, the officials will have practical experience officiating to their comfort level at the tournament. The clinician (Launel Scott) will be able to evaluate, assess and offer feedback to the new referees during the tournament. This is a great opportunity to develop new technical leadership within your goalball community.
