Join our Yoga Program!

Come experience the benefits of yoga.Yoga is a spiritual discipline that uses breath control, relaxation techniques, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific body postures to increase overall body health. Learn the techniques to a better mind, body and soul through yoga! This year we are having both of the yoga classes in one day instead of the Tuesday and Friday (if you previously participated, the Friday class is now going to be the Tuesday morning class).

Time: Tuesday morning class is from 10:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and the Tuesday afternoon class is from 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Registration Fee: $40.00

Gymnastics Program with the Calgary Gymnastics Centre

ASRAB is partnering up again with the Calgary Gymnastics Centre to provide an 8 week adapted gymnastics program for members. Come and experience what gymnastics is all about and learn fun new skills! Volunteers will be partnered with members to allow a safe environment while on gym equipment.

Time: 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Ages: 6+

Registration Fee: $100.00

Attire: If you have long hair, please wear it up in a ponytail or bun! Please come dressed in sweat pants and a comfortable top. Participants will wear socks or bare feet while on the gym floor.

Movement for Me and Sports Literacy

ASRAB invites you to join our Movement for Me classes that teach members a variety of physical literacy skills such as balancing, hopping, skipping, throwing, catching and much more! Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding of movement for engagement in physical activities for life. These skills are the building blocks that are essential for a successful transition into sport and physical activities.

The Sport Literacy Program is an additional tier to the Movement for Me program and is for previous students who have mastered the fundamental movement skills and are ready for more of a challenge. This program introduces sport specific skills that will set up members for success in recreational or sports activities. Please inquire via e-mail to verify if your child is ready for this program.

Skateboarding Program with Skatelife Calgary

Come and experience the fun of skateboarding! Members will have the the opportunity to learn how to balance, how to stand and how to move on a skateboard. No experience necessary. Volunteers will be paired with each member to insure safety while skateboarding.

Where: Dalhousie Community Church located at 5511 Baroc Rd NW, Calgary, AB T3A 4R1

When: Saturday, February 8, 2020 & Saturday February 15, 2020

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Program Details: Please make sure to bring your own helmet and any other protective gear. Skateboards will be provided.

ASRAB Skating and Hockey Skills Development Program

Calling all members who want to practice their skating skills or learn some hockey skills! Join our program at the Olympic Oval for some fun on the ice!

One half of the ice will be devoted to learning how to skate and the other half will be devoted to learning blind hockey skills and drills.

Helmets are mandatory so make sure to bring them. It is encouraged to bring your own skating gear. If you need to rent gear, you may do so on your own behalf. Also, please come 15 minutes early to allow time to lace up!

Where: Calgary Olympic Oval (288 Collegiate Blvd NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1N4)

When:

ANNOUNCEMENT – ASRAB SKATING AND HOCKEY SKILLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM DATES AND TIMES ARE CHANGING. THE NEW DATES AND TIMES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

Registration Fee: $30.00

Learn Para Alpine Sports with Rocky Mountain Sport Adaptive!

With the incredible support from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities and the Para Sport Jumpstart Fund, RMA is providing 4 FREE Para Alpine Try It Camps at the beautiful Sunshine Village Ski Resort, in Banff, Alberta. These are designed for guests who are new to skiing or sit skiing.

Join the City of Calgary’s FREE Recreation Multisport Program for Youth with Disabilities Featuring Goalball!

This FREE exciting multisport program is for youth ages 10 – 17 years who have a disability to build confidence and competence so that they may continue to be active for life! Friends and siblings ages 10 – 17 are also invited to register. Accessible transportation is available by D.R.E.A.M.S and sports equipment will be provided at no extra charge.
