Walking Club!

Walking club will be held at different parks and walking paths around the Calgary area. Walking Club will take place outdoors depending on weather conditions. We ask that you come early to sign in and fill out additional paperwork. We recommend that you bring a mask with you to ensure safety.

Dates: Every Sunday, starting February 21, 2021

Time: From 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Where: Locations to be announced via e-mail.

Cross Country Skiing with the Calgary Ski Club!

ASRAB has teamed up with the Calgary Ski Club to provide a fun cross country skiing experience! Join in on a fun outdoor activity and cross country ski with us! Please make sure to wear warm clothes and bring a face mask to ensure safety. When signing up for this program, please let us know if you need rentals or not. If you do, please provide your boot size and height.

Registration Fee: $30/per person with equipment rental and $10/per person if you bring your own eqipment

Online Movement for Me and Sport Literacy Class

ASRAB invites you to join our Movement for Me classes that teach members a variety of physical literacy skills such as balancing, hopping, skipping, throwing, catching and much more! Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding of movement for engagement in physical activities for life. These skills are the building blocks that are essential for a successful transition into sport and physical activities.

The Sport Literacy Program is an additional tier to the Movement for Me program and is for previous students who have mastered the fundamental movement skills and are ready for more of a challenge. This program introduces sport specific skills that will set up members for success in recreational or sports activities. Please inquire via e-mail to verify if your child is ready for this program.

Plan to Move Your Kids is a free 12 week program for parents, designed for parents to support children with disabilities to get active and have fun.

This program was developed by researchers across Canada in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, the Canadian Disability Participation Project (CDPP)
