Yoga
Yoga is a spiritual discipline that uses breath control, relaxation techniques, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures to increase overall body health. Learn the techniques to a better mind, body, and soul through yoga!
We kindly ask that you bring your own yoga mat to each class. To get the most out of the experience, we encourage you to join us for all sessions.. Since classes have a maximum of 6 participants, we recommend registering early to save your spot. Please check your emails throughout the program in case classes are moved or cancelled.
Ages: 18 plus

Movement 4 Me
Are you looking for a fun and interactive way to help your child build their movement skills? Join our upcoming Movement 4 Me sessions, designed to develop fundamental movement skills like throwing, jumping, balancing, and running, all through exciting, confidence-building activities.
Ages: Adults 4-12
Where: CNIB Libin Room located at 10 11a St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 4Z3
Time: 6-7pm
Dates:
Tuesday’s September 23 & 30 and
Tuesday’s October 7 & 21

Skating Skills and Hockey Drills
This program is aimed at developing skating skills and learning some hockey drills. Join our program for some fun on the ice! One half of the ice will be devoted to learning how to skate, and the other half will be devoted to learning blind hockey skills and drills.
It is recommended that you bring your own hockey helmet and skates or look into rental options. Please wear warm-weather clothing, including gloves, as the rink is cool. Elbow pads and knee pads are recommended. Also, please come 15 minutes early to allow time to lace up!.
Ages: 7-18 (Participants outside this range may be considered, please reach out to inquire)
Where: Father David Bauer Arena 2424 University Dr NW, Calgary, AB (November 15 lesson)
Ed Whalen Arena – Soutland Leisure Centre, located at 2000 D Soutland Dr SW (November 22, 29 & December 6 lessons)

Programs from other Organizations
The Canadian Council of the Blind is a membership-based organization of blind adults. The Calgary Club is currently running ongoing programs in bowling, swimming, and curling.
ASRAB is excited to share with you upcoming programs from the Canadian Council of the Blind Calgary Chapter.
Bowling – 1 to 4 pm. Fridays, September 5, 12, 19, 26 – Chinook Bowladrome in the basement of Chinook Centre Mall. Book your rides to the mall entrance beside Chapters. If you need a guide from there, we can meet you at the mall doors.
Curling – 10:15 am to 12:30 pm. Mondays September 8, 15, 22, 29 -Calgary Curling Club, 720 – 3 Street North West.
The CCB membership fee is still just $10 per year. You can e/transfer your fee to ccbcalgary@shaw.ca or bring cash with you to the first activity you attend.
Please make sure we have any updated contact information. You are welcome to bring family or a friend to any of our activities but if they wish to participate as well, they will be required to buy a membership. Sighted members are invited to participate as long as there is enough room but if not, priority will be given to blind members. Thanks to Alberta Gaming funding, all of our regular programs are provided free to members.
