Introducing our New Program Coordinator Edmonton

ASRAB is pleased to announce that Brieann Baldock has assumed the role of Program Coordinator Edmonton, taking over the position from Wayne Zacharko.

Wayne has been an enthusiastic employee, and we have appreciated his passion for sport. We trust that Wayne will continue to be a part of ASRAB on the court or on the field!

Brieann is excited to become a staff member of ASRAB – one of the few roles she hasn’t had over the years! Brieann has participated in many sports with ASRAB, served with volunteer recruitment for sight night Edmonton, and a goalball youth coach. After joining ASRAB ten years ago, she quickly found her athletic passion in goalball; and is an athlete on Team Canada. “As the new ASRAB Program Coordinator Edmonton I am excited to engage with the community and bring you all fun, diverse and challenging programming. I am looking forward to working with members and meeting new members to bring physical activity for all. As someone who is visually impaired and an athlete myself, I know and understand the importance of accessibility and opportunities to participate in physical activity. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with your suggestions and questions. I am here to help!”

The program is for all ages (ages 10+) and experience. Come try a new sport, or get re-acquainted with a sport you enjoyed.

Thursday July 7 & 14 from 6:45-8pm at Commonwealth Lawn Bowling Club, at 11420 139 St NW

Calgary Lawn Bowling Club will be hosting Bowls Alberta’s 2022 Provincial Para Bowls Championships on July 29 to 3. This will be a great event to put your skills to the test and develop your competitive approach. The provincial championships will be qualifications for those wishing to receive funding from Bowls Alberta to attend the national championships – the inaugural Bowls Canada “Open” 2022 Canadian Para Bowls Championships will be held on September 11 – 17 at the Windsor Ontario Lawn Bowling Club. A squad of para bowlers and their assistant will be identified at that event to work towards representing Canada at the World Bowls Championships scheduled to be held in 2023 in Australia.
